Police detained a 28-year-old seller from River View, Ruimveldt after uncovering about four pounds of suspected marijuana during an operation near Massy Supermarket on Tuesday.

A 28-year-old seller residing in River View, Ruimveldt is being held by police after a search turned up roughly four pounds of suspected cannabis on Tuesday along Ruimveldt Public Road, close to Massy Supermarket.

In a statement released the following day, law enforcement officials said the exercise was carried out based on information received. Ranks approached the young man during the operation and searched him. They recovered a black plastic bag containing what appeared to be narcotics.

The suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Criminal Investigation Department headquarters. There, the substance was weighed while he watched, coming to four pounds total. It was then placed into evidence storage.

He continues to be held as the probe moves forward.
