Motorcycle Snatched from Venezuelan Rider in Early-Morning Sparendaam Heist

Two bandits on a bike ambushed a 22-year-old Venezuelan and his companion at Sparendaam around dawn, stealing their motorcycle at cutlass-point. Police are hunting the pair.

A young Venezuelan lost his motorbike to a pair of highwaymen during a pre-dawn ambush at Sparendaam, East Coast Demerara, on Friday.

Officers state the incident happened near 04:00hrs. The 22-year-old and a fellow traveller were heading home on their machine when two male riders on a second bike drew alongside.

Per Kaieteur News, one raider, wielding a cutlass, dismounted and moved in on the pair. A tussle erupted between the blade-wielding thief and one target. The outlaw then commandeered the victims' cycle, while his partner reboarded their getaway bike, and the duo vanished.

No one has been apprehended. The probe is active.
