Aldie man, 60, charged with first-degree murder after fatal shooting in Loudoun County

Aldie resident arrested in Pennsylvania after wife found shot dead

Roger Bradford, 60, of Aldie, Virginia, has been charged with First-Degree Murder and Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony, the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) reported on 22 September 2026.

Deputies responded at approximately 12:10 p.m. to a shooting at the 24000 block of Quimby Oaks Place in Aldie. On arrival, they found Lisa Bradford, 54, also of Aldie, deceased at the scene.

Bradford had fled before deputies arrived. The LCSO, together with the Pennsylvania State Police, the Maryland State Police, and the Frederick County Sheriff's Office, conducted a multi-state search spanning Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. Bradford was taken into custody at approximately 3:15 p.m. by the Pennsylvania State Police in Bedford, Pennsylvania, where he is being held pending extradition to Virginia.

According to sheriff.loudoun.gov, the LCSO believes the shooting to be domestic in nature and states there is no ongoing threat to the public.

The LCSO extended thanks to the Pennsylvania State Police, the Maryland State Police, and the Frederick County Sheriff's Office for their assistance in the operation.
