House where Marset was captured in Santa Cruz to become FELCN anti-drugs office

The house where Uruguayan drug trafficker Sebastián Marset was captured on 13 March 2026 in Santa Cruz de la Sierra will be converted into an operational office of the Special Force to Fight Drug Trafficking (FELCN), according to reporting from reduno.com.bo.
Benjamín Patzi, legal adviser to the Directorate of Registry, Control and Administration of Seized Property (Dircabi), confirmed the measure to the local press: "This property will be handed over in the capacity of custodianship to the FELCN to carry out operational work in protection of our country and in the fight against drug trafficking".
Patzi also clarified that all property administered by Dircabi comes from the trafficking of controlled substances, which is why the transfer to the FELCN is mandatory under institutional procedure.
Marset managed to operate in Bolivia from 2019 under false identities. In July 2023, when special units attempted to apprehend him for the first time in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, he managed to escape. He was finally detained and deported to the United States on 13 March 2026 following a special operation by the Bolivian Police.
The case generated multiple international recognitions for Bolivia. To date, authorities have detained 55 members of the Uruguayan capo's criminal network and seized small aircraft, properties, vehicles and safes linked to his organisation.
