In the Zurich district of Affoltern, two men came into conflict on Wednesday shortly before half past two. During the incident, one of the men drew a sharp object and injured the other.
Police units found a 31-year-old man with a cut wound at Sandacker. Paramedics took him to a hospital. According to a statement from the city police, a verbal dispute initially broke out. As the situation escalated, the alleged perpetrator, a 55-year-old Syrian, decided to use a stabbing weapon.
Units from the cantonal police arrested the suspect later at his place of residence. The exact circumstances leading to the incident remain unclear. The investigation is being conducted by Public Prosecutor I for serious violent crime together with the Zurich cantonal police.
