International heroin trafficking network dismantled at Pont-à-Mousson
Police in the Nancy region have shut down a major drugs network linking Belgium to the small town of Pont-à-Mousson in Meurthe-et-Moselle. The operation resulted in the seizure of one kilogramme of heroin and 25,000 euros in cash.
The investigation began in February. Patrols observed suspicious behaviour near the railway station. One of the individuals observed was already known to police. Investigators then decided to set up telephone surveillance, which confirmed the existence of active trafficking.
Physical surveillance was subsequently deployed. Police identified a first distribution point on avenue du Général-Patton. Other dealing locations were progressively identified in the town. The case mobilised local services as well as European units.
