Rape of 12-year-old girl in Gironde: 28-year-old man imprisoned after luring her online
A 28-year-old man was committed for trial and imprisoned for rape of a 12-year-old child whom he had lured by impersonating a teenager on social media.

A 28-year-old man was committed for trial and placed in provisional detention on Thursday 24 September, according to TF1 Info. He is suspected of having raped a 12-year-old girl after luring her online by assuming a false teenage identity.
The facts date back to Sunday 20 September. The individual allegedly exchanged messages with the victim on social media whilst presenting himself as a young girl, before arranging to meet her at the edge of a wood located in La Teste-de-Buch, in Gironde. At the location, the girl found herself facing an adult who assaulted her, sexually abused her, and then raped her, according to statements from the Bordeaux prosecutor, Renaud Gaudeul.
Following the attack, the suspect fled. He was identified and arrested by investigators from the local criminal investigation service and placed in police custody the following Tuesday. He has since been committed for trial for "sexual assault" and "rape" committed against a minor.
When questioned by the newspaper Sud Ouest, Renaud Gaudeul stated that the accused had "contested the facts" alleged against him during police questioning.
The magistrate did not specify which platform the exchanges had taken place on. The investigation is continuing in order to determine the profile of this man in his twenties and to establish whether he may have had other victims in the past.
