Degenerate party in Sector 3: 13 detained after attacks with stones on police

Intervention with special forces following violent party on Iosifești street, Sector 3

A private party organised during the night of Monday to Tuesday on Iosifești street in Sector 3 of the Capital resulted in serious violence against law enforcement. According to Digi24, participants threw stones, bottles and glasses in the direction of police officers and gendarmes, and to restore order the intervention of the Special Actions Service (SAS) and the use of irritant-tear spray were necessary.

First call, 21:50

On 31 August 2026, around 21:50, police officers from Sector 23 Police Station were notified via the 112 emergency number that several persons were disturbing public peace through loud music. The crew dispatched to the scene issued a fine to one person, under Law no. 61/1991, and participants initially complied.

Second call and outbreak of conflict

Around 23:00, a patrol crew in the area established on its own initiative that loud music was again being heard from the same location. Approximately 30 people were present at the scene — including the person previously fined. The police officers requested backup; a gendarme crew joined the intervention.

"At the moment of intervention by law enforcement, several persons adopted recalcitrant behaviour, manifesting themselves aggressively verbally, addressing insults and moving threateningly towards police officers and gendarmes," stated the Capital Police. Towards a 27-year-old man — the same person fined at the first call — immobilisation and handcuffing were necessary, in compliance with legal provisions. As other persons continued to approach threateningly, irritant-tear spray was used.

Stones and bottles thrown; vehicle damaged

Subsequently, several participants threw stones, bottles and glasses in the direction of law enforcement, damaging a parked vehicle nearby. The vehicle owner reserved the right to lodge a complaint within the timeframe stipulated by law. No police officer or gendarme was injured.

To manage the situation, personnel were reinforced: several crews from Sector 3 structures, officers from the Special Actions Service and gendarme crews. "Through the coordinated intervention of law enforcement forces, the situation was rapidly brought under control, public order and peace were restored, and the state of danger was eliminated," stated the Capital Police.

13 people taken to Sector 23 Police Station

Following the intervention, 13 people — 11 men and two women — were taken to Sector 23 Police Station headquarters for establishing the situation and implementing legal measures. A medical crew was called to the scene, but no person required medical care.

After order was restored, police and gendarme personnel remained in the area for preventive purposes.

Criminal file for assault and disturbance of public peace

Investigations are being continued by the Prosecutor's Office attached to Sector 3 Court, in collaboration with police officers from Sector 23 Police Station, for the offences of assault in the form of threats and disturbance of public order and peace. All 13 people taken to the police unit headquarters were, at the time of reporting, in the specific procedures for clarifying the situation.
