A "sophisticated" cannabis farm housing more than 300 mature plants has been uncovered above a bar on Attercliffe Road in Sheffield, bbc.co.uk reports.

Officers forced entry through a barricaded door at the commercial property, finding the plants "all ready to be cropped and funnelled onto the streets of South Yorkshire," according to police.

Two men were arrested earlier this month on suspicion of producing cannabis and immigration offences. Both have been bailed pending further inquiries.

South Yorkshire Police also issued guidance on identifying cannabis cultivation, noting that warning signs can include a strong smell of the drug, blacked-out windows, excessive condensation, a blocked letterbox, and visitors arriving at unusual hours for short periods.
