Two men charged after stabbing on Dartford High Street

A man in his 40s was treated for stab wounds after a brawl on Dartford High Street on 11 September. Two men now face charges including wounding with intent.

Dartford High Street stabbing leads to two charges after Friday-night brawl

Kent Police has charged two men following a serious assault on Dartford High Street at around 8.30pm on Friday, 11 September, in which a man in his 40s sustained injuries consistent with stab wounds.

Patrols and paramedics attended the scene after an altercation involving several people. The victim was taken to a local hospital and has since been discharged. Authorities believe those involved were known to one another.

James Dunnett, 33, of Dartford High Street, was charged with wounding with intent and possession of a bladed weapon in a public place. Philip Donkin, 49, of Wright Close, Swanscombe, was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

Both men appeared at Sevenoaks Magistrates' Court on Monday, 14 September, and were remanded in custody pending their next hearing. A 37-year-old woman arrested in connection with the incident was released without charge.

Officers recovered a knife and an extendable baton at the scene. Enquiries are ongoing.
