Fatal Shooting During Jewelry Robbery Outside Queens Strip Club, Gunman at Large

A Brooklyn man was shot and killed during a botched jewelry robbery outside an Astoria strip club at 3:50 a.m. Thursday. The NYPD released surveillance images of the masked suspect and is seeking public tips.

New surveillance photographs show the hooded, masked gunman suspected of fatally shooting a man during a robbery outside a Queens strip club, NY Post Metro reports — including one image capturing the moment the trigger was pulled.

Hector Figuereo, 49, of Sunset Park, Brooklyn, was standing outside the Riviera Gentleman's Club at Steinway Street and 35th Avenue in Astoria at approximately 3:50 a.m. Thursday when a masked attacker approached him from behind, according to authorities.

The gunman attempted to snatch Figuereo's jewelry before opening fire and striking him in the back, law enforcement sources said. Figuereo was transported to Elmhurst Hospital Center, where he died from his injuries, police said.

The NYPD released several images Friday. One captures the shooter at the moment of firing; another shows him crouched over; a third depicts his getaway vehicle — a white SUV that fled northbound on 37th Street.

As of Friday, no arrests had been made. It remained unclear whether the two men knew each other or had both been at the club that night.
