A 19-year-old has been taken into custody more than four months after a robbery-turned-shooting in Memphis's Orange Mound neighbourhood killed one man and left a woman in critical condition, actionnews5.com reports.

Bobby Joyner was booked on Monday, 14 September, and issued a $5 million bond. An indictment charges him with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, especially aggravated robbery, and two counts of employing a firearm with intent to commit a felony.

The indictment alleges Joyner shot and killed 35-year-old Lee Mhoon during a premeditated robbery in the early morning hours of 4 May. Memphis Police Department officers found two gunshot victims — a man and a woman — at the scene on Hamilton Street near Douglass Avenue just after midnight.

The woman was transported to hospital in critical condition. Mhoon was pronounced dead at the scene.

No arrests were made at the time. Police later identified Joyner as the suspect. The indictment was filed on 1 September, with an arrest warrant issued the following Friday.

No court date has yet been scheduled.
