One arrested, teen suspect wanted after Asheville shooting in April

Officers responded to a residence there at approximately 3:29 p.m., where a victim was transported to Mission Hospital. Forensic technicians recovered multiple shell casings and found several vehicles damaged by gunfire.

A joint operation involving the Asheville Police Department, the Buncombe County Sheriff's Office, the State Bureau of Investigation and the U.S. Marshals Service led to the arrest of 20-year-old Lamon Tyrik Smith, Jr. on Tuesday. Smith is facing multiple charges in connection with the incident.

Authorities are also searching for 16-year-old Danvonte Pearson, who will be charged as an adult. Pearson is described as five feet eight inches tall, with short black hair and a tattoo above his right eye. Police consider him armed and dangerous.

The U.S. Marshals Service is offering a $3,000 reward for information leading to Pearson's arrest. Anyone with relevant information is asked to contact the Asheville Police Department at (828) 252-1110.
