San Jose rideshare driver held on charges of sexual assault of a minor

A rideshare driver has been arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a juvenile passenger in San Jose, abc7news.com reports.

Police responded to the incident on 12 September, shortly after 10:30 p.m., in the 100 block of Paseo de San Antonio. A preliminary investigation established that the juvenile was travelling in a rideshare vehicle when the suspect, Anuj Kumar, allegedly carried out the assault.

Investigators identified Kumar and the vehicle through Flock camera footage. He was taken into custody on 13 September with assistance from the Foster City Police Department and subsequently booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail on a charge of sexual assault of a minor.
