San Jose man confesses to two murders; bodies recovered near Guadalupe River

A 28-year-old man flagged down a patrol officer in San Jose on Saturday and confessed to two separate killings. Both victims were found near the Guadalupe River.

San Jose police arrested a 28-year-old man on Saturday after he approached a patrol officer and allegedly confessed to two homicides, abc7news.com reports.

At around 5:15 p.m., the man flagged down the officer and claimed he had killed someone near Lelong Street and West Alma Avenue. Officers located a dead man in that area and took the suspect into custody.

The suspect then allegedly disclosed a second killing, stating the victim could be found near Autumn Parkway and Coleman Avenue. Officers responded and confirmed another body at that location.

Both victims were discovered in separate areas, though both were situated near the Guadalupe River. The suspect was subsequently booked into Santa Clara County Jail on suspicion of two counts of murder.

The deaths were recorded as San Jose's 20th and 21st homicides of 2026. Investigators are still working to establish the circumstances surrounding both killings and determine a motive.
