In the Saxon small town of Strehla, a 42-year-old man was killed by gunfire on the evening in question. Passersby noticed the act around 21:00 and alerted emergency services.
Officers took up the pursuit and deployed an aircraft in the process. Shortly afterwards, two individuals aged 37 and 41 were arrested in the neighbouring town of Riesa.
Investigators are treating it as an intentional killing. The authorities made no statements about the exact involvement of those detained, possible motives, or the precise sequence of events. According to police, residents faced no immediate threat.
