Two years after the violent death of a jogger in Lampertheim Forest, the perpetrator remains unknown. As Google News DE — Crime (de) reports, the Darmstadt Public Prosecutor's Office and the South Hesse Police Headquarters intend to present the case again on 9 September in the ZDF programme "Aktenzeichen XY" — in hopes of receiving the decisive lead.

The 36-year-old woman was killed by stab wounds in Lampertheim Forest on 16 September 2024. After the crime, the perpetrator took the woman's mobile phone from her waist bag; the device was later found in the forest near Bürstadt.

The investigators established a murder commission with around 30 officers. At the body, they secured DNA traces from a male person, which however could not be identified thus far — a database comparison proved fruitless. Furthermore, the authorities took DNA samples from a total of 1,300 persons.

The case had already made its first television appearance on 2 October 2024 in "Aktenzeichen XY". Which specific new leads the investigators intend to disclose in the upcoming programme, the authorities have so far kept to themselves. Whether a particular suspect is the focus is also unclear.

The Darmstadt Public Prosecutor's Office has additionally offered a reward of 5,000 euros for material information leading to the arrest of the perpetrator. Wanted posters are also to be hung up in the vicinity of the crime scene as well as in neighbouring communities.
