The Nanterre public prosecutor's office (Hauts-de-Seine) decided to refer Patrick Bruel to magistrates on Wednesday 10 June. The objective is to have him charged with offences of a sexual nature.
The 67-year-old performer had been in police custody since the beginning of the week. The public prosecutor's office requested the opening of judicial proceedings against him. The charges retained include acts of rape, attempted rape, indecent assault and sexual harassment. The court has furthermore sought his remand in provisional custody.
The entire proceedings encompasses nine separate complaints.
