Four members of the same family were found dead on Wednesday evening around 8 p.m. on a caravan park situated in Gy, a commune in Haute-Saône approximately 45 minutes north-west of Besançon.
According to TF1 Info, whose police and justice department gathered information from a source close to the investigation, a father of a family reportedly opened fire on his loved ones before turning the weapon on himself. Among the victims are two children aged 6 and 10, as well as their maternal grandmother.
The exact circumstances and motives for this tragedy remain unknown at this time. The prosecutor in Vesoul has opened an investigation for voluntary manslaughter.
