Google News FR — Crime (fr) reports that a man has been sentenced to two years' imprisonment following the conclusion of a drugs trafficking case dismantled by officers from Beauvais police station in Oise.
It all began on 15 July 2026, when police intervened in an apartment in the prefecture, alerted by an anonymous call reporting drug trafficking. At the scene, officers discovered a genuine storage point: 558 grammes of cannabis resin, 69 grammes of cannabis herb, 48 grammes of cocaine and 1,950 euros in cash were seized during the search. The findings were released by the Oise national police on their social media accounts.
At that time, only the suspect's partner was in the apartment. She was taken into police custody. The main suspect himself remained untraceable.
The investigation continued for nearly a month. On 11 August 2026, the man was finally arrested and taken into police custody. According to L'Observateur de Beauvais, he had taken refuge at his brother's home and was attempting to evade police by hiding in the toilets at the moment of his arrest.
Brought before Beauvais judicial tribunal for immediate appearance, the defendant claimed that threats weighing on his family explained his involvement in the trafficking.
The tribunal sentenced him to two years' imprisonment, of which six months are suspended on probation. The Beauvais resident must also compensate the police officers who were victims of his aggressive behaviour during his arrest.
