Sexual assault on Erasmus student in Milan: the young woman's account
A twenty-year-old Spanish citizen who had arrived in the Lombardy capital for a training period through the Erasmus programme has filed a report of a collective sexual assault that took place during the night of 22 to 23 May. The incident occurred outside a nightclub in the Ortica district.
According to the account given by the victim to investigators, the evening had begun at the discotheque The Beach, where the young woman was with a friend from the same country. After losing contact with her companion, she had sat in a corner of the venue. Two young men of the same age had approached her and initiated a conversation. Shortly afterwards, one of them had invited her outside.
Once outside, the young man had taken her to an isolated area near car parks, followed by the second young man. The student reported experiencing non-consensual sexual acts, describing how additional members of the group came onto the scene. The young woman stated that she felt terror during the assault and could not remember whether she had been pushed or grabbed by the arm.
The attackers then transferred her inside a car, where the violence continued. Following the assault, the twenty-year-old was left outside the vehicle. She returned to the discotheque and told the security staff and her friend what had happened, initiating the red code procedure.
The girl was examined at the Mangiagalli hospital and filed a report at the police headquarters before returning to Spain. The investigation is being conducted by public prosecutors Letizia Mannella and Rosaria Stagnaro, who are analysing telephone records and recordings to identify those responsible.
