Murder of Polish soldier at border. Perpetrator's identity revealed
The Regional Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw has announced that the perpetrator of the murder of sergeant Mateusz Sitka is a Moroccan citizen, Mohamed Addamrou. The attack occurred on 28 May 2024.

The spokesperson for the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw, prosecutor Piotr Antoni Skiba, made public the name of the person responsible for the death of a Polish soldier. The perpetrator turned out to be Mohamed Addamrou, a Moroccan citizen.
The murder of sergeant Mateusz Sitka occurred on 28 May 2024 in the vicinity of the Polish-Belarusian border. The soldier was serving as part of a military operation supporting the Border Guard.
The Prosecutor's Office has not revealed at this stage details concerning the course of the attack itself or the circumstances in which the Moroccan came to be near the border. The investigation into this case is still ongoing.
