Fraud "posing as bank employee" in Warsaw – 18-year-old remanded in custody
An 18-year-old suspected of obtaining 26,000 zlotys using the "bank employee" fraud method has been remanded in custody. He was detained at dawn as he attempted to hide on a balcony.

According to tustolica.pl, police officers detained an 18-year-old suspected of fraud using the "bank employee" method. The victim, a woman, lost 26,000 zlotys. At the prosecutor's request, the court applied remand in custody against the man.
A report was lodged with the police headquarters by a woman who received a call from an alleged bank employee. He informed her of a purported threat to funds in her account and instructed her to hand over her bank card along with the PIN to a courier, assuring her that "he would take care of everything". Trusting the caller, the victim followed the instructions.
After some time, the woman received another call – this time from an actual bank employee – asking about multiple cash withdrawals and an ongoing transaction in the city centre. It was then that she realised she had been the victim of fraud.
The matter was taken up by the criminal investigation department. Analysis of operational materials made it possible to quickly identify the suspect. Officers appeared at dawn at the location where he was supposed to be. The door was opened by his acquaintance, but the 18-year-old attempted to hide on the balcony. He was detained immediately.
The collected evidence was sent to the Warsaw-Praga Południe District Prosecutor's Office. The man was charged with fraud using the "bank employee" method. The court, at the prosecutor's request, applied remand in custody against him.
