Man, 29, held in Bucharest after sexual assault on trolleybus 90
A 29-year-old man, believed to be an Egyptian citizen, has been held by Bucharest Police after allegedly touching a 25-year-old woman sexually on a trolleybus in Bucharest.

Bucharest Police held, on Monday, 31 August, a 29-year-old man suspected of sexually assaulting a 25-year-old woman on a trolleybus of line 90 in Bucharest, reports Gândul.
The incident occurred on 7 August, at around 20:35, when the young woman called the emergency number 112 and alerted police at Section 17. The woman had boarded the STB trolleybus of line 90 at around 20:10 from Piața Rosetti station, heading towards Cișmigiu Park.
According to the victim's statement, when the vehicle stopped at Grădina Cișmigiu station, the man allegedly approached her and touched her with his hand on her right leg, from hip to knee, after which he got off the trolleybus. Before getting off, he allegedly said "bye, bye, love" to her.
"Police from the Criminal Investigation Service Sector 5 held a 29-year-old man suspected of committing the crime of sexual assault," stated the General Police Directorate of Bucharest Municipality (DGPMB) in an official statement.
According to available information, the man is believed to be an Egyptian citizen. The case was taken over by the Criminal Investigation Service Sector 5, whose officers conducted investigations for almost three weeks to identify the suspect. He was found on 31 August and taken to police headquarters.
On the basis of evidence presented in the case file, police ordered the measure of detention for 24 hours. The man is to be presented to magistrates with a legal proposal.
Investigations are being continued by the Criminal Investigation Service Sector 5, under the supervision of the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Court of Sector 5, in connection with the alleged commission of the crime of sexual assault.
