Scandal at a party in Sector 3: stones and bottles thrown at police

Cotidianul.ro reports that during the night of 31 August to 1 September 2026, officers from Police Station 23 intervened to restore public order following a violent conflict that broke out at a party. As a result of the events, authorities opened criminal files against three persons accused of contempt and breach of the peace.

The two men involved received detention warrants for 24 hours and are to be presented before magistrates at the Sector 3 District Court. A minor is under investigation in a state of liberty for similar offences, namely contempt in the form of threats, as a result of aggressive behaviour towards law enforcement.

The investigation shows that party participants adopted a recalcitrant and threatening behaviour towards the police and gendarmerie units that arrived at the scene. The conflict escalated rapidly, with several individuals hurling insults at officers and throwing stones, bottles and glasses in their direction.

Beyond the criminal aspect, law enforcement also sanctioned contraventional breaches identified during the intervention: 14 fines with a total value of 68,400 lei, issued under legislation concerning public order and peace.

The investigation continues under the coordination of the competent prosecution office, the Capital Police stated in a statement. All evidence collected at the scene is being analysed to establish the degree of involvement of each person. The persons in question benefit from the presumption of innocence until a final court decision.
