USR demands inquiry at Chamber of Deputies over false amendment introduced in ANI Law
USR has requested Sorin Grindeanu to initiate a disciplinary investigation concerning an amendment that fraudulently appeared in the report of the Legal Commission, targeting Dominic Fritz.

Digi24 reports that the leader of the USR parliamentary group, Diana Stoica, has addressed a formal request to the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Sorin Grindeanu, asking him to urgently initiate a disciplinary investigation. The subject: identifying the person or persons who introduced into the official report of the Legal Commission an amendment targeting the Mayor of Timișoara, Dominic Fritz, without the text having been submitted, debated or put to a vote by the members of the commission.
The amendment appeared in the official document with the note "Author: Legal Commission", even though it had not gone through any voting procedure within the commission, according to a USR press release. The party has already filed a criminal complaint, with suspicions of intellectual forgery, and is now asking the Chamber leadership to establish any administrative and disciplinary responsibilities.
"USR deputies cannot accept that a text of law appears secretly in an official document of Parliament and then everyone behaves as if nothing happened," Diana Stoica declared. She added that those who drafted the amendment, those who introduced it into the report and those who coordinated the entire scheme "must answer", emphasising that Grindeanu "has the obligation to find out who committed this extremely serious act and to impose the corresponding sanctions".
USR deputy Alexandru Dimitriu explicitly rejected the hypothesis of a material error. "A material error means a digit or an incorrect wording. A full paragraph, drafted legally, does not appear by mistake, one that produces exactly the political effect desired by the PSD against Dominic Fritz," Dimitriu said. The parliamentarian considers the situation "extremely serious" and believes that it is necessary to identify the person who acted and the one who gave him the order to proceed in this manner.
USR is demanding that the Chamber of Deputies leadership clarify who intervened on the report, at what moment and on the basis of which provision. Dimitriu warned that Grindeanu cannot limit himself to waiting for the conclusion of the criminal case: "He has administrative tools available right now. If he refuses to use them, he must explain why he is protecting the persons who intervened on an official document of Parliament."
