A man in his twenties was attacked and stabbed during Monday evening in Hässleholm. By Tuesday, police were able to present a breakthrough in the investigation – a suspected perpetrator has been identified, although the person has not yet been arrested.
The victim was taken to hospital following the assault. His injuries were assessed as serious but not life-threatening, and he was discharged from care on Tuesday.
Police have worked during the investigation to gather evidence. This has included interviews with people who were in the vicinity of the crime scene, as well as a technical examination of the location where the crime took place.
Police have chosen not to release details about what has led to suspicions against the identified person, or whether there is a known connection between the perpetrator and the victim.
