Arson attack on restaurant on Djurgården – two arrested after car chase
A restaurant on Djurgården in Stockholm was hit by arson in the early morning. Two people have been arrested after a suspected vehicle was traced southward.
Petrol poured over outdoor seating at Djurgården – two arrested
Police and the fire service were called at 06.20 to a restaurant on Djurgården in Stockholm after a fire broke out on the establishment's outdoor terrace. According to the fire service, pots and sofas were burning.
Aftonbladet reports that the perpetrators are said to have poured petrol over the outdoor seating before the fire started.
A suspected vehicle that left the scene at the time of the fire was traced to southern Stockholm county. The vehicle has been seized and two people have been arrested.
Police have opened a preliminary investigation into aggravated arson. The restaurant is cordoned off whilst a technical examination is carried out at the scene.
