Police in the Gothenburg area have launched an operation to trace people suspected of obtaining narcotics from minors. The investigation is based on information gathered from analysis of mobile phones.

In seized phones linked to a criminal network, approximately 8,000 unique numbers have been identified. These belong to buyers who had contact with about thirty sellers.

The authority now plans to conduct home visits to the people behind these numbers. The purpose is twofold: to investigate any potential crimes and to inform them of the risks of purchasing illegal substances.

According to police, many of these are people with no previous criminal record.
