Drugs warrant on Cavendish Road leads to two arrests in Mansfield

A man and a woman have been charged with drug supply offences after Nottinghamshire Police raided a property on Cavendish Road in Mansfield at around midday on Wednesday, bbc.com reports.

Officers executing the warrant found a package suspected to contain heroin concealed in a bathroom waste pipe, after one of the suspects fled to the room during the search. Police also recovered evidence of Class A drugs, unlicensed medication, and a large quantity of cash from the address.

A 53-year-old man and a 49-year-old woman have been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a Class A drug, possession of an offensive weapon, and the supply of unlicensed medication. Mobile phones seized from the property are being analysed to determine the scale of the operation.

Inspector Katie Eustace of Nottinghamshire Police said: "Thanks to community intelligence, we were able to execute a warrant at an address in Cavendish Road and shut down this operation for good."
