A 75-year-old Canadian woman has been charged in the United States with three counts of voter fraud, Global News Crime reports. Christiane Vinette Young allegedly cast ballots in three separate elections despite not being a U.S. citizen.

According to the U.S. Attorney's Office for Florida, Vinette Young voted in the 2024 general election, the 2022 general election, and the 2022 primary elections. The office says she was illegally present in the United States at the time of each vote.

If convicted on all counts, Vinette Young faces a maximum sentence of three years in prison.

The case was investigated by Homeland Security, the U.S. Attorney's Office confirmed. Vinette Young did not respond to a request for comment. She is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
