An 18-year-old man has been arrested in Smyrna, Georgia, after a dismembered female torso fell from a plastic tub onto a walkway inside an apartment complex, cbsaustin.com reports.

The Smyrna Police Department identified the suspect as Kingston Bradley. Officers had initially responded to a missing-person call at the complex at around 8:15 p.m. on Wednesday before making the discovery.

According to a report from WAGA-TV, Bradley allegedly dropped the plastic tub on a dirt path between the complex's buildings, then fled toward his nearby unit after noticing he had been seen. A witness told investigators they observed Bradley carrying the container in an open area between 8 p.m. and 8:28 p.m. that evening.

Officers who arrived at the scene determined that the object which had fallen from the tub was the dismembered torso of an unidentified woman. Authorities subsequently entered Bradley's unit, where they reportedly made additional findings, though specific details of what was recovered were not fully disclosed in available reports.

Bradley was arrested and charged in connection with the discovery. WAGA's report also noted that he was already facing charges of battery and terroristic threats in a separate case in Cobb County, Georgia.

The identity of the woman whose remains were found has not been established. A missing-person investigation remains ongoing, authorities said.
