Green Bay Police Hunt Ashwaubenon Man on Child Abuse Warrant After Traffic Stop Escape

Green Bay Police are searching for a 20-year-old Ashwaubenon man who escaped a traffic stop on Sunday afternoon, according to wbay.com. Jayveionn Williams is wanted on multiple active warrants, including one for child abuse.

Officers spotted Williams behind the wheel just after 2 p.m. and moved to pull him over, but he refused to stop. His vehicle struck a kerb and came to a halt near the junction of University Avenue and Henry Street, at which point Williams abandoned the car and fled on foot.

Authorities briefly issued a temporary shelter-in-place order for the surrounding area, which was lifted at 4 p.m. Despite the measure, Williams was not located.

He is described as a Black man standing approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing around 190 pounds, with short black hair and brown eyes. When last seen, he was wearing a black T-shirt and black sweatpants, and had no shoes on.

Police are urging the public not to approach Williams, as he is considered dangerous.
