Man, 69, arrested for secretly photographing women at Burbank shopping centre

Suspect followed women through store, photographed them without consent

A 69-year-old San Fernando man was arrested Saturday on suspicion of lewd conduct after allegedly using an electronic device to secretly photograph female shoppers at the Burbank Empire Center, abc7.com reports.

Officers were called to a store at the shopping centre at around 4 p.m. following a report of a suspicious individual. A store employee told police they had observed the man following female patrons through the store and covertly taking photographs beneath their clothing.

"Upon arrival, officers contacted a store employee, who saw the suspect follow female patrons throughout the store and use an electronic device to secretly take photographs of them under their clothing without their knowledge or consent," Burbank Police Department Lt. Brent Fekety said.

Officers located Alfred Hernandez as he was leaving the store. Two women, aged 48 and 52, were identified as alleged victims.

Hernandez was arrested on suspicion of lewd conduct, a misdemeanour. Fekety confirmed that formal charges remain pending review by the Burbank City Attorney's Office.
