Edmonton man charged with murder in Inuvik shooting death
According to ca.news.yahoo.com, a 25-year-old Edmonton man has been charged with murder following a fatal shooting in Inuvik, Northwest Territories, on September 14.
Inuvik RCMP received a report of shots fired inside a residence on Bompas Street at approximately 7 a.m. The victim and suspects had left the scene before officers arrived. A male victim was found shortly after and was later pronounced dead at Inuvik Regional Hospital.
In a news release Thursday, RCMP identified the accused as Joshua Rath, charging him with murder and two counts of discharging a firearm with intent.
Officers arrested four suspects in total on Tuesday. The remaining three were released without charge.
Rath remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in Territorial Court on October 14.
