Guns, suppressors and drugs seized from False Creek boat after shots fired

Vancouver police boarded the vessel Night Shadow in False Creek on Sunday evening after reports of gunfire, arresting four people. Guns, suppressors, and drugs were found.

Four arrested after armed boat search in False Creek, Vancouver

Vancouver Sun Crime reports that the city's marine unit and emergency response team boarded a vessel moored in False Creek on Sunday evening following calls about someone discharging a suppressor-equipped firearm into the water.

At approximately 6 p.m., officers boarded the boat, identified as the Night Shadow, and detained four individuals found on board. The vessel was subsequently towed to a secure location, where police obtained a search warrant.

Officers recovered a chrome handgun, multiple firearm components — including a large extended magazine — and several suppressors during the search. Suppressors, which reduce the noise and muzzle blast of a firearm, are classified as prohibited devices under Canadian law.

Also discovered aboard were several small bags of substances believed to be crystal methamphetamine and fentanyl, along with chemicals, dyes, scales, and utensils consistent with drug preparation.

No charges have been sworn as of yet, with investigators describing the case as still in its early stages.
