Life-threatening shooting on Bank Street under investigation

Ca.news.yahoo.com reports that a man in his 20s was rushed to hospital with life-threatening gunshot injuries after emergency crews found him on Bank Street near Heron Road at approximately 4:45 a.m. Saturday.

Ottawa Paramedic Service operations commander Kevin Montgomery confirmed the severity of the wounds without detailing their nature. "Paramedics can't comment on the nature of the injuries — it's a police matter — but from a medical perspective we can say that the injuries were … going through the skin," Montgomery said.

By Saturday afternoon, the Ottawa Police Service had announced no arrests in connection with the incident. The OPS Guns and Gangs Unit and East Investigations Section are leading the investigation.
