Murder Convict Arrested in Barrie After Federal Warrant Issued

Kingstonist.com reports that Bradley Elliott, 42, a federally sentenced inmate convicted of murder, has been taken into custody in Barrie after going "unlawfully at large" on Aug. 24.

The Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (R.O.P.E.) Squad announced on Tuesday that they were searching for Elliott, who is accused of breaching his statutory release. Authorities noted he was known to frequent Barrie, Wasaga Beach, Alliston, Bradford, Collingwood, and the Greater Toronto Area.

On Friday, Barrie police officers arrested Elliott at an address on Ross Street. Police told CTV News they had received information leading them to his whereabouts. He was taken into custody without incident.

Prior to his most recent arrest, Elliott was serving a sentence of four years and one month for multiple offences, including assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon, motor vehicle theft, and personating a peace officer.
