Montreal police arrested six people Thursday in a drug trafficking investigation targeting the Sud-Ouest borough. Cocaine, a firearm and counterfeit $100 bills were among items seized.

Montreal police arrested five men and one woman Thursday in connection with an alleged drug trafficking network operating primarily in the Sud-Ouest borough, ca.news.yahoo.com reports.

The investigation targeted a network allegedly selling illicit drugs to vulnerable people. Searches in the area recovered cocaine, cannabis, amphetamine and methamphetamine, along with a firearm, ammunition and more than $10,000 in cash.

Police also seized a batch of counterfeit $100 bills during the operation.

Three of the six suspects appeared in a Montreal courtroom Thursday, facing charges that include possession of prohibited firearms and possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking. The three remaining suspects are expected to appear in court at a later date.
