Toronto — Two dogs linked to an alleged attack on a pet owner and her dog in a Toronto park have been located and taken into custody by police, Toronto Sun Crime reports.
The incident occurred on Sept. 10 in the area of Avenue Rd. and Roxborough St., when a suspect allowed two dogs off-leash in an enclosed section of a nearby park. A victim was walking her leashed dog outside the enclosure when the two dogs allegedly broke free and attacked both her and her animal. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries; her dog suffered life-threatening wounds.
Toronto Police responded to the animal complaint on Sept. 12. The two dogs remained outstanding until Wednesday, when they were located and seized.
Tanychia Black, 40, of Toronto, who had already been charged in connection with the incident, now faces criminal negligence causing bodily harm, two counts of failing to prevent a dog from biting or attacking under the Dog Owners' Liability Act, two counts of a dog biting a person or domestic animal under the same legislation, and one count of obstructing a peace officer.

Hamilton shooting sends three schools into lockdown; stabbing suspect charged
A shooting in Hamilton's Bartonville neighbourhood on Friday afternoon left two people with non-life-threatening injuries and triggered lockdowns at three nearby schools.
Hamilton Police confirmed at around 2:45 p.m. that the shooting took place in the Cochrane and Lawrence Rds. area. Officers said one suspect was arrested at the scene while a second remains wanted.
Rosedale, Viscount Montgomery and St. Eugene schools were placed under hold and secure as a precautionary measure. The lockdowns were lifted shortly before 4 p.m.
Separately, in the early hours of Friday morning, Hamilton Police responded to a report of a stabbing at a hotel on Main St. West near Whitney Ave. Officers arriving around 1 a.m. found a group had been fighting and one man was bleeding. A 54-year-old Hamilton man was treated for wounds at the scene before being transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Hamilton Police Special Constables located the suspect nearby and arrested him. The Police K9 unit subsequently recovered the knife used in the incident. The man has been charged with aggravated assault.

Niagara Falls drug bust nets fentanyl, meth and oxycodone; two charged
Detectives with the Niagara Regional Police arrested a man and a woman in Niagara Falls on Thursday following an investigation into the sale of controlled substances at a residence on Desson Ave.
The investigation began earlier this month. When officers executed a search warrant Thursday morning, they seized 117 grams of suspected fentanyl with a street value of approximately $11,700, 18 grams of suspected methamphetamine worth around $900, 300 hydromorphone tablets valued at $1,500, 150 oxycodone tablets worth about $1,500, and $2,900 in Canadian currency.
Todd Petkovich, 62, was arrested and charged with four counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
Amanda Spence, 49, faces one count of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and failing to comply with a probation order.
Police said two additional occupants of the residence were also arrested during the search in connection with outstanding warrants.
