Somme Assizes: man tried for triple homicide

Since Tuesday 16 June 2026, a case of triple homicide has been examined by the Somme court of assizes. A 52-year-old man is answering charges for facts dating from 2022. He has admitted to taking the lives of his 26-year-old partner, their three-year-old son, and her sister, aged 25. Nevertheless, he formally contests any act of a forced sexual nature.

The authorities had uncovered the remains of the three victims in the flat that the couple occupied in the north-west of Amiens. This discovery dates back four years. The judicial proceedings will be held over several days, with a closing scheduled for the following Thursday.

During his first address to the jurors, the accused spoke in these terms: "It is terrible, […] one has the impression that I committed a collective lynching".
