A former security guard aged 39 has been sentenced to fifteen years' imprisonment for subjecting his partner to repeated rape whilst under the influence of sedative medication.

The special assizes court of the Rhône imposed a sentence of fifteen years' imprisonment on a man in his forties, a former security professional. The charges concerned sexual assaults committed against his wife over a period of eight years.
The judges exceeded by three years the public prosecution's recommendations, which had sought a twelve-year sentence. The man was found guilty of administering sleeping pills to his partner in order to abuse her, whilst recording these assaults on video. Stolen photographs of the victim, naked, were also shared.
The investigation revealed that the accused was in correspondence with Dominique Pelicot, the central figure in the Mazan rape trial. These exchanges were discovered during investigations conducted by police services.
The arrest of the former bodyguard dates to 2023. The assaults took place in the family home, where the victim was drugged without her knowledge.
