Vehicles with flashing lights illuminated, the courthouse street sealed off, helmeted and armed gendarmes: the spectacle caught the attention of passers-by.
This deployment was aimed at securing the arrival of persons summoned to appear before the criminal court in connection with a case of receiving stolen goods in an organised group, possession and transportation of drugs, as well as criminal association with a view to preparing an offence punishable by ten years' imprisonment on reoffence. Six defendants were to appear before the court during a trial scheduled over two days.
Mid-morning, it was announced that the hearing had ultimately been adjourned.
