Double murder in Drancy: 39-year-old ex-partner referred, spouse ruled out
A 39-year-old man will be presented to a judge on Sunday for the murder of a 29-year-old woman and her two-month-old baby in Drancy. The victim's spouse has been ruled out.

Three days after the discovery of the bodies of a 29-year-old woman and her two-month-old baby in Drancy (Seine-Saint-Denis), the investigation has taken a decisive turn. According to actu.fr, the Bobigny public prosecutor's office announced the lifting of the custody of the victim's spouse: no charges have been brought against him.
Suspicion is now concentrated on a 39-year-old man. On Sunday, 20 September 2026, he is to be referred for the opening of judicial proceedings "on the charges of murder by a person who was the victim's partner and murder of a minor under 15 years old," the public prosecutor's office specified.
Arrested in possession of victim's belongings
The second suspect was arrested whilst in possession of personal effects belonging to the victim. The prosecutor's office indicates that he had maintained a "romantic relationship" with her. Analysis of his telephone furthermore established his presence near the crime scene.
During questioning, the man denied any involvement. This was not enough to dispel suspicion: the prosecutor's office requested his remand in custody.
No declared history of violence
The investigation is being conducted by the criminal squad of the Paris judicial police and is continuing. According to actu.fr, the victim was not covered by any protection scheme reserved for women victims of violence. No previous incidents had been reported.
