Double murder in Drancy: 39-year-old man presented to judge for murder of mother and infant
A 39-year-old man, former partner of the victim, was brought before an investigating magistrate in Bobigny on Sunday in connection with the murder of a 29-year-old woman and her two-month-old daughter in Drancy.

According to ouest-france.fr, a 39-year-old man was presented on Sunday to an investigating magistrate at Bobigny court in the context of the investigation into the murder by blade weapon of a 29-year-old woman and her two-month-old daughter, discovered dead in an apartment in Drancy, Seine-Saint-Denis.
The Bobigny public prosecutor's office states that the suspect had "entered into a sentimental relationship" with the victim in the past. Analysis of his telephone records made it possible to establish his presence near the scene at the time of the incidents. He was furthermore arrested in possession of personal effects belonging to the mother. During questioning, the man contested any involvement in the incidents.
The public prosecutor's office requested his placement in provisional detention. He is being prosecuted "on charges of murder by a person who was formerly in a relationship with the victim and murder of a minor under 15 years of age", according to the court's terms.
A second person had also been placed in police custody — the victim's former live-in partner — but was released without any charges being brought against her.
The bodies of the mother, originally from Haiti, and her infant were discovered on Thursday in their apartment in Drancy, a town located to the north-east of Paris. It was the victim's sister who alerted the authorities after discovering the blood-stained bodies.
