Criminal defence lawyer Christophe Ingrain, a former investigating judge, presented Nicolas Sarkozy's defence before the judges of the Paris appeal court on Wednesday 27 May. These were the final submissions in the matter of Libyan funds that were used to finance the former head of state's presidential campaign.
In parallel, the same counsel had recently spoken in television media to defend Patrick Bruel, who is accused of sexual assault.
