Tairone Saint-Cy, aged twenty, was killed on Tuesday 26 May 2026 at the foot of a residential tower on Rue Gustave-Eiffel in the Halvêque district of Nantes. Neighbours describe him as someone kind-hearted, sociable and well-liked in the neighbourhood. This death brings to three the number of people murdered in the context of violence generated by the illicit drugs trade in the city this year, according to Ouest-France.
At around twenty-one forty-five, the young man was in the company of a third party on an esplanade situated between four buildings. A motorbike then arrived, carrying two hooded figures. They chased their target before opening fire. The prosecutor for Nantes crown court, Antoine Leroy, corroborated these facts.
The circumstances suggest a methodical killing. Investigators are favouring the hypothesis of a settling of scores linked to the underground drugs economy, which regularly causes bloodshed in certain areas of the Nantes metropolis. The criminal investigation police services have been mobilised on this case.
