A dramatic high-speed chase dating from 21 January 2025 allowed Toulouse investigators to trace a 40-year-old woman active in storing drugs on behalf of traffickers. The two occupants of a suspicious vehicle, spotted by law enforcement, chose to abandon their car and flee on foot rather than submit to a check.
In their rush, one of the fleeing individuals left several packages on the road containing three blocks of cannabis resin, totalling 1.5 kilograms. Forensic police technicians collected fingerprints and biological samples from the packaging. Genetic analysis allowed these elements to be matched with a woman in her forties already known to the authorities for similar offences in 2024.
Locating this "nanny" required several months of investigation. Police eventually managed to locate her in the Mirail neighbourhood, where she lived. On Monday 15 June, a search was carried out at her home. Officers discovered 3 additional kilograms of cannabis resin, nearly 800 euros in cash, and three electronic scales.
In custody, the suspect admitted to carrying out this storage activity on behalf of dealers. The Toulouse public prosecutor was to present her for an emergency hearing on Tuesday 16 June before the criminal court.
