Dropped collision in Argentina: Manslaughter trial set for September 2027
The trial for "involuntary manslaughter" linked to the crash of two helicopters during filming of the Dropped television show, which claimed the lives of 10 people in 2015, will open on 27 September 2027 in Paris.

Eleven years after the events, the trial date is finally known. The Paris judicial court will examine from 27 September 2027 the case of the crash that occurred during filming of the Dropped television show, according to information obtained by BFM TV from the lawyer for the association of the victims' relatives, partially confirming reporting by Parisien.
"The hearing will take place between 27 September 2027 inclusive and 20 October 2027 inclusive in chamber 31/1," stated Ms Solenn Le Tutour.
On 9 March 2015, two helicopters collided in the Argentine province of La Rioja, as participants were to be transported to a filming location. The tragedy claimed the lives of ten people: boxer Alexis Vastine, swimmer Camille Muffat and sailor Florence Arthaud, the two Argentine pilots Juan Carlos Castillo and César Roberto Abate, as well as five French members of the production team — Brice Guilbert, Laurent Sbasnik, Édouard Gilles, Lucie Mei-Dalby and Volodia Guinard.
Other sports personalities participated in the show but were not on board the aircraft at the time of the collision: figure skater Philippe Candeloro, swimmer Alain Bernard and former cyclist Jeannie Longo thus survived the tragedy.
This accident remains the deadliest in the history of French television. The trial will have to establish whether negligence was at the origin of the catastrophe.
