After a passenger on a train route from the capital to Ķemeri physically assaulted a railway employee and took her work bag, police have established the identity of the suspect. During a search of his residence, part of the stolen items were recovered.

During the night of 7 June, on a train journey from Riga to Ķemeri, a passenger attacked a ticket inspector and took a work bag belonging to the company "Vivi". The incident was registered between Sloka and Ķemeri stations.
A spokesperson for the State Police, Gita Gžibovska, confirmed that law enforcement had identified the suspected offender. Investigators have opened a case under Criminal Law provisions for robbery. During a search of the suspect's residence, police seized part of the items taken from the victim.
The conductor, who suffered the physical assault, is currently receiving treatment at a medical facility.
If charges of violent robbery are upheld, the guilty party could face a prison sentence of up to five years.
According to initial information, the suspect exited at Ķemeri station shortly after midnight.
